ABOUT ME

My name is Sarah Donaher and I am a currently an Environmental Engineering PhD student at Clemson University. My dissertation focuses on the biological uptake (toxicokinetics) and effects (toxicodynamics) of radionuclides on marine organisms.

I also studied the effects of disturbance on marine organisms as a Master's student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My thesis focused on the strategic introduction of facultative mutualisms (positive species interactions) to enhance the resiliency of seagrass beds in North Carolina.

I am passionate about finding ways to connect ecologists and engineers to better design coastal protection schemes. In the face of global issues like climate change and the pressing need for innovations in nuclear waste storage strategies, it will be imperative for scientists and engineers to share knowledge in order to design sustainable and equitable solutions to many of our current environmental problems.
